About Peter Black

Accomplished executive Peter Black founded Philanthropy Capital Management, LLC, in 2015 and currently leads the firm as chief executive officer and managing director. In addition to identifying new investment opportunities, he manages client relationships and develops marketing strategies for the firm, which contributes 20 percent of its carried interest to charitable causes. Peter Black also leads the company in making significant donations to the Heart Fund and the Children’s Health Fund, both of which fund research and provide resources for children with congenital heart defects.

Prior to founding Philanthropy Capital Management, Mr. Black spent 15 years with special situations hedge fund Wynnefield Capital Management. In his most recent role as director of research, he held weekly research meetings and approved new investment ideas. Mr. Black earned an MBA in accounting and finance from Fordham University and a bachelor of arts in English literature from Boston College.

When he is not working, Mr. Black stays active through a combination of golf, tennis, and yoga. He also enjoys reading.
